My party no longer needs me, or have I grown beyond?

This site is neither for or against.  I, and I hope that becomes we, will tolerate any civil discussion1.

I'd love some Green input to this site and welcome you with open arms.

The Mission of Partizane.com is to fight for the middle. Fight for the right to disagree. If we can help create a new party or radically change one of the existing ones then this will be great.

Fair use rules are for all our protection so please no more than 3 or 4 paragraphs from a quoted story.  We can go to the other site to read which is the wonder of the net.

Disrespect of others is the only thing not tolerated here.

A little update on September 11, 2008

Some have asked why I, a rabid Hillary supporter, am allowing anyone including Obama supporters on this site.  I would ask, why not?

Today more than any day of the year we realize that we are Americans and those citizens of the world reading were also Americans on 9/11.  We are all in this together.  Most of us have been harassed or banned somewhere due to our beliefs.  On Partizane you will not be banned for your beliefs.  You may indeed be banned for naughty behaviour but that is a different issue.  One which mature people understand.

I initially supported Hillary for two reasons other than the fact I've always liked her.  Number one, she is a woman.  I do feel the world would be a better place if little boys weren't in charge of the guns.  Secondly, I felt from the beginning that she was the only democrat equpped with the fortitude to beat the Republican's at the game who's rules they wrote.

If things continue the way they are now and I'm proven correct, on November 5, 2008 we Democrats will need to start the healing needed to come together for 2012.  No matter who the candidate is in 2012.  I would dearly love to be part of the healing rather than the separation.

Our member and friend Creeper wrote a comment that so perfectly states what we mean by civil discourse.

When I was in my twenties I had a conversation with my dad.  I'd read an article on abortion rights that was in direct opposition to my position and was fuming about the author's narrow-minded position.  My dad asked me why I read opinions that did not support my own position.  After I'd recovered from the shock, I told him that reading contrary opinions was the only way I would know if my own was correct. 

When you listen to the other side of an argument one of two things will happen.  You will either realize you were wrong and change your position or you will be confirmed in what you believe to be true.

You and I don't always agree but I treasure your presence here.  You make me think. 

1 Some reading this may think "isn't this NewHampster's site?".  So yes, Snark, well written, quality snark is not only allowed it is encouraged.  It should not be the norm but I believe that there is Always room for humor.  People with no sense of humor may be on the wrong site.  I encourage the use of the Snark tag in order to un-confuse some folks.
