Editorial Today by Governor Palin on ANWR sticky icon

As an environmentalist myself, I favor using the most environmentally friendly alternative sources of energy, but I also think it's hypocritical of us to say no drilling here when we use oil drilled in other places around the world.  As we shift to more ecological sources, I think Governor Palin makes some good, sensible points.  And when you combine this with her push for green renewables, it makes even more good sense.  She may be winning me over on the ANWAR thing.  I like her balanced approach.  Anyway, here's the editorial she wrote today (and more follows):

That Sarah Palin Is Just Too Green sticky icon

According to the Alaska Daily News, the Governor has just announced:
"the most ambitious renewable energy goals in the nation" and has "called for 50 percent of Alaska's power to be generated by renewable resources by 2025."
Have you seen much coverage of this by our corporate media pundits --all those guys who usually love to talk about progressive issues like global warming? You'd think they'd be doing cartwheels over this!

But I have a teaser or two for your thoughts today.

Sarah Palin announced she will head Energy Security and help for special needs children.

Best of all she said of Obama, “When it comes to reform, has he ever once said, ‘We did’ instead of ‘I will’?

Our friends over at NoQuarter have the rest of today's stump speech.

Madamab lays a good one on Harry "We don't know what to do " Reid.

Nuclear Power Surge

Get Ready for a Nuclear Power Surge:

Here's the latest news from the U.S. Department of Energy center in Los Alamos, New Mexico.  Scientists there say they will have mini-nuclear power reactors ready to go on the market in just five years.  They actually already have 4,000 reactors scheduled for delivery between 2013 and 2023. (mostly overseas at this point -- to places in Central Europe and third world countries, for example)  These mini nuclear plants are small enough to fit in your own back yard (underground, of course) and will have the capacity to supply power to 20,000 homes.  Just imagine, we could have one for every town. Make you feel safe and secure? There's a six-year waiting list though, so if you want one, get in line now.   btw, its fuel will have to be replaced every 7-10 years.  No word yet where the old, replaced fuel will go.
